Being in the Highlands of Scotland during winter time I have only used the Coolbox so far on its heat setting when picking up Chinese and Indian meals in the car. After phone ordering I've got a distance to drive so I first plug the box in at the house to pre-heat it then switch to 12V operation for the car. The meals always arrive piping hot.
One caution though, when collecting fish & chips the heat doesn't work so well as the fish & chips are in a polystyrene container which prevents the warmth getting out or hotbox heat getting in - its sort of works but not quite as successful as for meals in foil containers.
