Just to balance out the one star review on here. I bought this a while ago on the main lifesaver site, and have the jerry can as well. The person that wrote the one star review perhaps didn't read things right at all in either instructions or reviews, as the carbon filters do only filter 250 litres of water, but they are for use on water you believe may have additional concerns like pesticides or other chemicals polluting the water source.

On the whole this is an excellent product that in some situations could well make the difference between living and dying. We can only live for about three days without water, and so having something that can filter just about any water source is never a bad thing to have around the home to use in the event of a natural disaster. Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

when i first saw this i couldnt wait to get it.finely got it,read the instructions turns out it only does 250 ltrs before you have to buy a filter for it.as apposed to 4000 ltrs. not a happy man.
lesson learned....read reviews first.
