Excellent
This bag is brilliant. The best piece of luggage I have ever used. This medium size bag holds more than enough for a weekend. The reinforced roll top, combined with the tensioning straps, ensures the bag can be tightly closed, making it virtually impossible for water to penetrate. The first time I used the bag I rode for over 30 miles through torrential rain and the contents were completely dry. Only expensive top quality hard luggage can compete with this. If you need strap on luggage this is the best.
Waterproof addition to Ortlieb back panniers
I bought this bag to complement my Ortlieb classic back panniers. It's a neat solution to add more storage space for a tent or similar gear (in my case, a thermarest rollmat and a down sleeping bag that I could not afford to get wet). I used it on a long (4700 mile) UK tour.
It has the high quality build that you would expect from Ortlieb. It is sealed in a similar way to the Classic panniers, the top being "rolled", then two clips are fastened, and two straps tightened. It kept my gear perfectly dry - and I cycled through some appallingly wet weather in May and June 2012! I've now used it on over 100 days cycling in all conditions, with no problems at all.
It attaches using two pairs of straps and buckles, and sits across the top of the two back pannier bags. Once attached, it can be tightened using the straps, in the same way as the Classic panniers are tightened. In doing so, the bag presses down firmly on the top of the panniers, giving a very secure overall...
