Nikwax Wash in Re-proofer really works
Fantastic product that really does work on all types of rugs. It's worth the effort as the results are great but ensure you follow the instructions to the letter. Note that the amount you have to use is too large for the washing machine dispenser.
Do NOT Use In Your Washing Machine!!
I used this product to reproof my horse rugs by putting it in my washing machine. Having followed the instructions the rugs appear to be fine (although they have not been out in the rain yet) but the washing machine was not....the whole of the drum and door was covered in what looked like thick grey grease which I could not get off!! I telephoned the manufacturer and they said to use Cilit Bang and just wipe it off with kitchen towel. After trying this to no avail what I really had to do was buy some industrial degreaser and spray my washing machine several times over a period of two days then using a pan scrubber I had to scrub the whole drum and the door (not an easy task). I then had to put a pint of degreaser into my washing machine and run it on its' hottest wash, this had to repeated three times more, each time cleaning the grease out of the drum. Needless to say this is an experience I NEVER wish to repeat, so would never ever use this product again.
