A good tent for the money
Bought this tent as it was advertised as lightweight, easy to erect, tall enough for me to stand up in at 6" 2 and packs down small.

Well it does all the above but after using it for the first time on the isle of skye last week while away on the triumph i'm afraid its still a bit to bulky this is not the tents fault we just need something a bit lighter.

Had we not already had a large tent for taking away on car trips then we would keep this one as the inner tent is a good size and the living area is ample for cooking etc.

A good tent for not alot of money

Flimsy Poles
This tent was intended as a weekend/festival tent to replace a classic Lichfield Challenger 5, whose flysheet finally evaporated after 25+ years service earlier in the Summer. It seems that the Colorado 180 is just about the only decent-sized ridge tent left on the market (that I could find anyway). When the tent arrived I checked the contents and found that it had been supplied with 3 king poles instead of one. I didn't have time to return it before it was needed, so had to cut down 2 of the poles to the correct size. Luckily the tubing is very thin gauge, so this wasn't exactly difficult! The tent weighs approx 2 kg less than the Challenger 5 & most of the difference is accounted for by the poles - in my opinion they are completely inadequate for the loads that a tent of this size could generate in windy conditions. If we do decide to keep using it, I will certainly modify the old Challenger's 2 main uprights (they are a few cm shorter) & use these instead, along with its ridge...
